The object invoked has disconnected from its clients. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010108 (RPC_E_DISCONNECTED))

Scenario

  1. Ensure Interactive Protect is enabled. 
  2. Open Outlook and forward an existing email with Word attachment. (DOCX, DOC).
  3. When the Interactive Protect panel appears, uncheck Clean files - Remove metadata, enable Convert to PDF and click Apply button.
  4. Notice the error message below appears in the Interactive Protect status bar. The object invoked has disconnected from its clients. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010108 (RPC_E_DISCONNECTED)).

Resolution

  1. Upgrade to Professional 9.5.3. Learn how to download the latest version of Workshare.
  2. If you're on Workshare 9 Update 7b or 9.5.2 and you're unable to upgrade, please raise a case to Workshare Support and request patch CR01129786.
