"Overwrite files after cleaning" option is grayed out

Learn why the "Overwrite files after cleaning" option cannot be selected when performing a batch clean.

Scenario

When you batch clean one or more files, you may find that the Overwrite files after cleaning option in the Workshare Protect - Batch Clean dialog is grayed out and cannot be selected.

The "Overwrite files after cleaning" option is under "Saving:" in the "Workshare Protect - Batch Clean" dialog.

This is because you don't have the Write permission for at least one of the files you've selected to clean.

To find out what permissions you have for a particular file:
  1. Right-click the file and select Properties. The Properties dialog will open.
  2. Select the Security tab. The permissions are listed.
The permissions are listed in the "Properties" dialog, under "Permissions for [selected group or user name]".
