Manually remove an expired Workshare 9, 9.5 or 10 license

Manually removing licensing keys from the Registry may resolve issues where an active license isn't being recognised.

Scenario

In the event that your new or active license entitlement isn't being recognised in Workshare 9, 9.5 or 10, you may be asked to manually remove the previous or expired license using the following resolution.

Resolution

1. Sign out of Workshare (Confirm that the end user is not signed into Workshare)

  1. Open the Workshare Configuration Manager (Start > Workshare Configuration (User Mode)).

  1. Go to the My Products tab.

  1. If the button says Sign Out, click it then close the Workshare Configuration Manager.

2. Delete the Subscription key(s) from the Registry

Note: This step involves modifying the Registry. The Registry is not backed up automatically so changes to the Registry cannot be undone. If you're not familiar with modifying the Registry or you'd like assistance, please contact Workshare Support at support@workshare.com

  1. Go to Start > Regedit.exe. (You'll need administrative privileges to make changes)

  1. Navigate to and delete the Subscription key in the following locations if it exists:
