Internal emails are being routed to Protect Server for cleaning
Learn what to do when emailing internally (same email domain), messages are unexpectedly being routed to Protect Server and scheduled for cleaning.
Scenario
1. Create a
new email with an attachment and
address internally (both email addresses should have the same domain).
2. Go to the
Protect Server Console >
Click on
Messages tab then click on the
Subject of the message that was just sent.
3. Notice the
message was processed and scheduled for delivery (not expected).
Resolution
This issue will occur if the internal email address(s) in question resides on an Exchange server version that's older than 2010. To resolve the issue, migrate all the mailboxes to the newer version. Once this is done, internal emails will not be routed through Protect Server.
