Could Not Send Email

When you email a redline, you may receive an error message


Could Not Send Email. failed to create and send the email. Ensure that your default mail program is internet explorer is set correctly.

Scenario

When you compare two documents then email the resulting redline, you may see an error message that says the email could not be sent. This issue occurs if the default profile is used because there is only one profile for Outlook and the profile prompt is turned off.

Resolution

  1. Exit Outlook. 
  2. In the Control Panel, select Mail
  3. Click Show Profiles
  4. Under When starting Microsoft Outlook, use this profile, select Always use this profile
  5. Click in Apply
  6. Close the Control Panel and launch Outlook.
