Control How Workshare Connect updates

You can choose the preferences on how Workshare Connect updates.


Scenario

Workshare Connect can be configured to control the updates. There are two available options via the GUI in the Preferences of the application:
  1. Open Workshare Connect Desktop.
  2. Go to File - Preferences... - General.
  3. Under Control how Workshare updates select any of the two options below:

Resolution

You can also control Workshare Desktop updates using the registry keys.
  1. Open Registry Editor
  2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Workshare\Workshare Desktop\Update
UpdateControl
  1. On the right-hand side, edit the UpdateControl string and choose your preferences:
UpdateControl = 0 - This will automatically download and install the updates.
UpdateControl = 1 - This will prompt you to choose for updates you want to install. 
UpdateControl = 2 - This will disable ALL the update. Please note, this is the only way (via the Registry Editor) to turn-off the Workshare Desktop updates.
