Cannot attach more than three email attachments to a new email

Notice that as soon as you attach three email (.msg) attachments to a new email (reply or forward) you cannot attach any other.


Scenario

  1. With Interactive Protect enabled open Outlook and create a new email (reply to an email or forward an email).
  2. Drag and drop emails from any of the Outlook folders or from the local file store (C: drive).

NOTE: This does not happen with other attachment files (I.E. Word, PDF, Excel)

Resolution

Install Microsoft KB3191906 (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3191906/may-2-2017-update-for-outlook-2010-kb3191906).

Microsoft released KB3191906 on the 2nd of May 2017 to fix missing, corrupted or duplicated attachments.

KB3191906 applies to Microsoft Office 2010 Service Pack 2, Microsoft Outlook 2010. 


NOTE:

When KB3191906 gets installed it causes an issue with quick print of files attached to emails - Error: "This file could not be found".
