Your Workshare subscription has expired
Learn how to regain access to Workshare's features when your paid edition has been converted to a free personal account.
When a paid edition of Workshare has been converted to a free personal account, you'll receive an email with the subject, "Your Workshare subscription has expired".
When you log in to the desktop app or my.workshare.com, you’ll see a Personal Edition label at the top, next to your name.
You’ll still be able to access and share files, but you won't have access to the Admin Console.
If your license has expired, you also won't have access to:
- The Compare application
- The Compare for PowerPoint application
- Metadata cleaning in Outlook or on your desktop
- Secure file transfer in Outlook
- The Workshare ribbon in Word, PowerPoint and Excel

If your license is still valid
To regain access to these features, refresh your license. You can force a refresh by signing out of Workshare and signing back in.- Close all Workshare and Microsoft Office applications.
- Launch the Workshare Configuration Manager (Start > Workshare Configuration (User Mode)).
- Select the My Products tab.
- Click Sign out.
- Close the Workshare Configuration Manager.
- If you're using Workshare 9.5 or Compare 9.5, double-click the Compare application on your desktop. You'll be prompted to sign in.
If you're using Workshare Protect, open Outlook and create a new email with an attachment. If a panel opens to the right of the email prompting you to sign in, click Sign in. If a panel does not open, send the email and you'll be prompted to sign in.
- Enter your email address and password.
- Click Sign in.
